Qualification Criteria :
Commercial or Industrial Site
Your business should have a commercial or industrial premises with sufficient space for battery installation.
Grid Connection
Existing grid connection with sufficient headroom to accommodate the battery's import/export needs.
Lease Agreement
Ability to enter into a lease agreement for battery installation (typically up to 15 years).

Provide half-hourly electricity import data for your site for the past twelve months, from your energy supplier (or we can send you a letter of authority that lets us get this for you).

Provide a recent copy of an electricity bill.

Provide confirmation that you can sublease up to two parking spaces’ worth of space for a fifteen year period.

If you are planning to install solar, please provide a copy of your solar proposal, or if you have solar already installed, your solar generation and export data half-hourly for the past twelve months. If neither then nothing additional is needed.

How can you provide the battery system for free?We partner with specialist investors who fund the battery hardware and installation costs. In return, the battery generates revenue from energy markets (like load shifting and balancing services). You get a portion of that revenue as monthly savings or income.

How much space does the battery require, and where would it go?Typical battery containers need about 1–2 parking bays of space (for mid-sized solutions), but it depends on the battery’s capacity. Batteries can be installed outdoors or indoors (e.g., a warehouse corner), subject to safety and ventilation requirements. Our engineering team conducts a site survey to confirm the exact footprint.

Our partnering team has developed this product with a range of investors with an interest in Green Energy who see the potential for behind-the-meter batteries to balance the grid while earning an attractive return. How long does it take from first conversation to ‘switching on’ the battery?On average, 12–16 weeks from our initial discussion to full commissioning. That timeline can vary based on: Data availability (meter data and site info). Grid connection or permit requirements (if any). Site complexity—for example, whether you have existing solar or unique electrical infrastructure. We’ll give you a clearer estimate once we’ve done a preliminary assessment.

How soon can we see financial or energy savings once it’s installed?You’ll start seeing reduced energy bills (via load-shifting and peak shaving) immediately after commissioning. Revenue from grid services (if applicable) typically starts in the first full billing cycle following commissioning. We’ll share monthly performance reports so you can see the exact impact right away.

What maintenance or support is required from our side?Very little. We offer a fully managed service that covers monitoring, maintenance, and troubleshooting. The battery’s health is tracked remotely in real-time, so if any issue arises, our support team will address it promptly. Your main role is just to enjoy the savings and carbon reductions.

Does this work with our existing solar panels or other on-site generation?Yes. Battery storage pairs seamlessly with solar PV, wind turbines, CHP, and other generation sources—enabling you to store excess generation and reduce your peak grid imports. We optimise how and when your site draws from each source to maximise financial returns.

Does this fit into my insurance policy?Generally, our GreenBattery fits under standard business insurance categories. It uses lithium iron (not lithium ion) technology, which is the safest on the market.

What if we want to move premises or sell the building before the lease ends?The battery can be relocated to a new site or removed altogether if needed, depending on the agreement terms. If you move, we can often transfer the system to your new facility or handle reselling the asset. We work with you to make the transition as smooth as possible.

Who pays to charge the battery? Am I footing the bill for your revenue?The cost to charge the battery is factored into the overall project economics. Instead of you importing from the grid at expensive times of day, we import into the battery at cheaper hours. This then offsets your usage during more expensive peak hours. You will always get net savings from the Battery – every single month.

Will installing a battery disrupt our operations or systems?No. Our partnering team designs the system to integrate smoothly into your existing electrical infrastructure. Installation typically takes less than a day, and downtime is kept to a minimum. We conduct a thorough study to ensure no adverse impact on day-to-day operations.
